Yesterday I've spent some time testing 7 different cassette tapes (all chrome or pseudo chrome) by recording the same music on these from vinyl and playing it back. Some of the recordings I've digitized in 96/24 format and uploaded on the RapidShare as a single ZIP file (http://rapidshare.com/files/396483805/Test.zip), containing 7 96/24 FLAC files 1 min long each with the same fragment from the beginning of 'Sultans of Swing' by Dire Straits. The only difference between files is the tape used. If somebody would like to listen to these files and compare them - please tell what file (numbered from 1 to 7) do you prefer from the sound quality point of view. All tapes tested were quality 'NOS' blanks - from 6 different makes. I will disclose the actual cassette types after, say, a week?
