Ford Focus Stereo Wiring Manual For Toyota
2004–2010 Ford Focus Stereo Wiring. The second gen Ford Focus has very similar car stereo wiring to the first generation. There are two exceptions however that you must be aware of. The second generation Focus Stereo Wiring uses the switched 12 volt accessory through the car’s CAN data network.
I'm a new member, so I'm not sure I'm posting in the right area and not yet familiar with navigating this website.
To the point, I bought a focus used, have only had it for a few weeks now. I have a Sony CDX-GT25MPW from the car I used to drive that I want to move to the focus. I have removed the Blaupunkt stereo, purchased a wiring harness and found that it for some reason does not fit the 'stock' harness, and have done the unthinkable and cut the stock harness to wire it myself. I have an understanding of wiring schematics, and followed the schematics from the haynes manual. The stereo works, but ONLY if the headlights are switched on. What could be happening here? ('stock' meaning I bought the car used, who knows if it's the original harness or not, it fits the Blaupunkt, and there was no previous cuts to the wires as far back into the car as I could see.)

Radio Accessory Switched 12v+ Wire: This vehicle uses the can data network for accessory turn on.
Radio Ground Wire: Black/Blue
